Keep Your Pet

Not Enough Time

Another excuse for giving up a pet that we hear is, "I don't have enough time for him".

Is it that you do not have the time for your pet, or that you do not want to make the time for your pet? Many pets are just content to lie at your side while you relax after work. You do not need to spend hours on end throwing a ball to keep your pet happy (in most cases!). Why not watch one less sitcom a night and spend that time with your pet instead. If you miss one 30 minute sitcom, it will not make much of a difference to you, but that time spent with your pet will make a world of difference!!

You can have a well trained dog if you give you pet just 10 minutes a day! Everyone has 10 minutes! You can even combine your playtime, exercise time, and training time! You can include a well mannered dog in many more of your family activities as well.

If you have a long work schedule and have a hard time spending the time you should with your dog, you could check into getting a dog walker, or have a trustworthy dog loving friend or neighbor that needs a little extra money that could come walk your pooch and spend a few minutes throwing a ball for him.

Just remember, your pet does not require a huge block of time from you. He needs you to just make a little time here and there and it can be very enjoyable for you too as well!! Doing activities with your pets will bond you even closer to them.

Please try and make an effort to make time for your pet. Many people say that their pet deserves more time than they can give. If your pet had the choice, he would always want to remain loyal at your side, even if he doesn't get to play ball quite as much as he'd like. Please find it in your heart to do whatever is necessary to keep your pet for life.
